The Age of comfort

"Honey , pass me the remote please , the game is about to begin" Does this sound familiar ? Never in human history has technology so influenced society as a whole and integrated itself into our everyday living. Everything has been designed to entertain , soothe and comfort. The spirit of entertainment has strategized and schemed itself into churches with a subtlety that is mindboggling. We must have fun and enjoy God they say. Be careful what you preach so that you don't lose members in your ministry because of offense. To enhance their church or ministries stature leaders go to great lengths to accommodate everybody and so yield to compromise rather than take a stand for the truth. The spirit of faith has an unwavering integrity that will never budge on any onslaught that tries to distort the truth of God's Word. There is always a price to pay for standing up for the truth. God never called His people to have a good time according to the flesh and build a so called better tomorrow. This earth is not our home and never will be. We are only passing through. It is temporal and wil vanish. Our time here should be spent in fear and reverence before an Allmighty and Holy God. God is not your next door neighbour who you can play with. The body of Christ has a task to bring many souls to salvation , but not through man made ideas and strategies but through the power of the Holy Spirit. To God be all the Glory !!

Rightly dividing the word of truth - 2 Tim 2:15

The word of God is very powerful and yet it can be easily misrepresented. As christians we need to be fully aware of the danger of assumption and the pitfalls of quoting scripture out of context. This can cause confusion and allow unbelief and doubt to creep in which are the greatest enemies of faith. We are now living in the dispensation of grace. God dealt with Israel under the law and their relationship with God  was based on do's and don'ts. This is no longer the case according to the letters of Paul. As Gentiles saved by the grace of God we aught to live after the new creation in Christ. We are not Jews trying to please God through ordinances and Jewish customs and days. Our only obligation to the Jews is to pray for them that their hearts wil turn toward God and the veil be taken away. As a son I am growing to maturity in Christ being prepared by the spirit of God to rule and reign with Jesus in the heavenlies. This earth is not our home and never will be . We are only passing through as pilgrims and this should be our confession. With the introduction of Paul the Apostle everything changed for the gentiles as he called himself the Apostle to the Gentiles. The mystery of the Gospel was given by revelation to Paul and it is this mystery that was hidden before that God wants us as gentiles to be a part of . Praise God for His mercy and grace.

The tongue - a powerful force

The greatest revelation I received years ago as a christian was the revelation on the tongue. I remember reading Mark 11 : 23 and the impact it made on my life . Notice that Jesus said in the latter part of that verse  ....." he shall have whatsoever he saith."  Like Brother Kenneth E Hagin used to say ( this was one of his favourite  passages of scripture ) Jesus mentioned saying 3 times in this verse so what you say must be important .  In fact what you say is so important it could determine the outcome of your life in the here and now. Proverbs 18 : 21 says " death and life are in the power of the tongue : and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. So one can safely assume that in the light of this scripture your tongue will produce fruit , whether good or bad. Look at Ecclesiastes 5 : 6 "suffer not thy mouth to cause thy flesh to sin " This is probably one of the most amazing scriptures on the results of what you say. I made many bad decisions in my life because of stubbornness. In the process I lost my wife and children through divorce. However I made a decision to humble myself before God and allow Him to work with me. My children were on drugs and going down. There was no hope for us in the natural. I started speaking restoration over my family even when it looked as if nothing ever was going to happen. I spoke life instead  of death.I can boldly testify that by the Grace and mercy of God my marriage is restored , my children are serving the Lord and studying towards their respective qualifications. To God be all the Glory. Start speaking the Word of God over those dead situations and see the life of God bring you into victory
